Watt, the Amplify for Advisors Agent, drafts marketing for financial professionals. It's built so you never need to enter client information, and it has no place for it. Here is how it handles everything else.
At a glance
Is our data used to train AI?
No. Watt doesn't train AI on your content, and Anthropic's commercial terms say it doesn't either.
How long is data kept, and where?
In the United States, until you delete it. Database backups roll off within 7 days.
Do we own our data, and can we take it with us?
Yes. You own what you give Watt and what it makes, and you can download all of it as a ZIP any time.
Who else processes our data?
Every provider is listed below, with what each one does.
Is there a SOC 2 report?
Not yet. The controls Watt does have are listed below, and our vendor due diligence sheet is available on request.
Is there a record of what was approved?
Yes. Each approved copy is saved unchanged with who approved it and when, and a downloadable activity log shows who drafted, reviewed, approved and posted what. Each account is for one person.
Will you tell us about a breach?
Yes, by email within 72 hours of becoming aware of an incident that affects your account data.
Does anything reach clients without approval?
No. Watt never posts or sends on its own. It sends only what you approved, exactly as approved, when you choose.
What does the price include, and can it change?
No setup fee and no contract beyond the period you pay for. We email 30 days before any price change and 30 days before an annual renewal.
Each answer comes from the Watt privacy policy (version 1.10) and the Watt terms of service (version 1.3). If anything here differs from those documents, they win.
Client information stays out
Watt doesn't need anything about your clients or prospects, and the terms forbid entering names, contact or account details, balances, holdings or photos of clients. Watt's AI is told never to put client details in what it writes, and the boxes for client questions refuse entries that look like an email address, phone number, account number or a name with a title.
Because Watt isn't meant to hold client information, it doesn't act as your service provider for it under Regulation S-P. It gives you the 72-hour incident notice anyway.
AI and your content
When Watt writes, it sends what you typed and your settings to Anthropic. Anthropic's commercial terms say it doesn't train its models on that data, and it deletes it within at most 30 days under its current policy, except where it must keep it longer for legal reasons or to investigate misuse. Watt doesn't use your content to train AI, and no other user ever sees it.
Who processes your data
These providers help run Watt. Each handles your information only to provide its service.
| Provider | What it does for Watt |
|---|---|
| Anthropic | AI that writes drafts, describes photos, reads public web pages, runs findability searches, and picks pop-up words for videos |
| Vercel | Hosting, server logs, file storage for uploaded photos and videos, and the servers that make your videos |
| Neon | Database |
| Resend | Email delivery |
| Stripe | Payments and subscriptions. Watt never sees full card numbers |
| Deepgram | If you record a video, turns its sound into words. Told not to keep the sound or train on it |
| Pexels | Stock photo search. Receives search words only |
| Google (Gemini API) | Makes photos for posts from a short scene description. Never your name, firm, clients or anything you typed about a person |
| Google Fonts | Fonts |
| LinkedIn, X, Meta | Only if you connect them. Receive the approved posts you send there |
| Mailchimp, Kit | Only if you connect them. Receive approved emails as unsent drafts. Watt never reads your contacts |
We list every change below with its date. Firms that want an email when the list changes can ask us, and firms with a data processing addendum get 30 days' notice.

How Watt is secured
- HTTPS for all traffic, and stored data encrypted by our database and file hosts.
- Passwordless sign-in with an emailed link and a 6-digit code that work once, expire in 15 minutes and lock after five wrong tries.
- Optional two-step sign-in with an authenticator app, plus one-time recovery codes, so someone who gets into your email still can't get into Watt.
- Per-account access, so each advisor sees only their own data, plus "sign out everywhere" on the Account page.
- Secret keys kept in our host's encrypted settings, never in our code.
- Connections to LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Mailchimp and Kit stored as encrypted tokens. Watt never sees those passwords, and disconnecting deletes the token.
- No advertising cookies, tracking pixels, fingerprinting or outside analytics.
- App, database and file storage in the United States.
Uploaded photos are private. Only you can open them, signed in to Watt. Email header images and videos sit at long random web addresses so they can be published, and anyone given one of those addresses could view that file.
Approvals and records
Nothing leaves Watt without your approval. Posts go only to the accounts and at the times you choose, and emails go into your email tool as unsent drafts for you to send.
Each approved copy is saved exactly as approved, with who approved it and when, and it can't be changed. When your compliance reviewer approves through Watt's review link, they type a code Watt emails to them, so the copy shows the approval came from their inbox. Their name, decision and time are kept with the copy.
An activity log on the Approved Copies page lists what was drafted, sent for review, approved and posted, by whom and when, as a spreadsheet you can download.
If your firm archives email, give Watt that address and it sends one email a month with everything you approved and that month's activity log. These copies are for your reference and aren't your firm's official books and records, so your firm's own archive stays the record.
